NON-DEGREE OPTION

Saybrook College of PHS offers 11 certificates to non-degree students and to degree students seeking to enhance their education.

To earn a certificate, students need to complete four 3-credit certificate courses, one 3-credit practicum course, and a 1-credit integrative paper that ties course study and research together. Students will earn 16 units by completing a certificate. When appropriate, Saybrook students can transfer credits earned through a certificate towards their degree program.

Saybrook offers certification in the following areas:

  • Building a Sustainable World
  • Community Health and Development
  • Creativity Studies
  • Dream Studies
  • Expressive Arts for Healing and Social Change
  • Jungian Studies
  • Leading Organizational Transformation
  • Peace and Conflict Resolution (International Focus)
  • Violence Prevention and Response

Non-degree students can also enroll for individual courses, taking up to 12 units at a time. Each 3-unit course costs approximately $3,000 and must be completed within five months of enrollment.

Non-degree students are considered enrolled when the completed application form, transcript indicating graduation with a bachelor's degree, and course fee is received; and a written confirmation from the Admissions Office is sent. Students can apply for non-degree study at any time of the year. Two courses taken as a non-matriculated student may be applied to a degree program. Admission to a degree program is separate from enrollment as a non-matriculated student.
